MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines on Wednesday listed 7,181 new cases of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Department of Health (DOH) said, pushing the nationwide total case count to 2,690,455.
The DOH said the country’s active cases went down to 82,411.
Of these cases, 75.3 percent are mild, 12.1 percent are asymptomatic, 7.25 percent are moderate, 3.7 percent are severe, and 1.6 percent are in critical condition.
The DOH noted in its report that two accredited testing laboratories failed to submit data on time.
Meanwhile, total recoveries rose to 2,567,975 after 6,889 more patients recovered from the viral disease.
Deaths related to COVID-19 reached 40,069 with 173 new fatalities.
The DOH noted 14.2 percent positivity rate out of 40,323 tests reported on Oct. 11.
Government data also showed that ICU beds allotted for COVID-19 patients are 67 percent occupied nationwide, and 49 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Ventilators in use are 49 percent of the total 3,200 nationwide, and 50 percent of the 1,000 units in the capital region.
