MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ cumulative tally of novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases climbed to 1,255,337 on Friday after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 7,450 additional infections.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said the number of active cases in the country went up to 60,794.
Of these cases, 93.9 percent are mild, 2.0 percent are asymptomatic, 1.15 percent are moderate, 1.6 percent are severe, and 1.3 percent are in critical condition.
The DOH noted in its report that five accredited testing laboratories failed to submit data on time.
The DOH also reported that the total recoveries increased to 1,173,006 after 2,382 more patients survived the viral respiratory disease.
The death toll rose to 21,537 with 181 new fatalities.
The positivity rate is down to 13.6 percent based on the samples of 48,862 individuals who were tested on June 2.
